A trip to San Francisco wouldn’t be complete without a visit to “The Crookedest Street in the World.” Officially called Lombard Street, this stretch features quaint townhouses and idilic gardens, intersected by the elegantly curving road.
Do you see the picture below, showing the street from Telegraph Hill?
Yeah, I walked all the way up that, thought I was going to have a heart-attack. But it was totally worth it, and I managed to soldier on the rest of the day anyway.
I can’t imagine living there as there is a constant stream of obnoxious tourists walking all over the place.
I want your feedback on this picture!
Have you ever been to Lombard street?
Do you think this photo captures the feel of being there?

yes I have been to Lombard Street in the 1970s while my sister and I visited my brother living in California. We didn’t walk up Lombard St but I remember walking another street and literally using the trees to pull us up the steep hill. As you mentioned its hard. hey! A good exercise place – if you live there.
Yeah, San Francisco does not want for hills! I think was in much better shape after I left there.
Next time you visit San Francisco, give me a heads-up and I will take you to the ACTUAL crookedest street in SF; it’s not in a posh neighborhood, as is Lombard Street, but it has more curves and is steeper, truly!
For sure! That sounds cool, what is the actual crookedest street?
